Train to provide medical care under a physician’s supervision as a nationally certified, state-licensed physician assistant.

The healthcare system is facing a shortage of physicians. Physician assistants (PAs) can help fill the gap. They extend the service of physicians by performing basic medical care, including assessment, diagnosis, referrals, and prescriptions. If you want to prepare to become a PA, D’Youville University can help.

We offer a two-year Master of Science in Physician Assistant designed to prepare you to sit for the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE), administered by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

The program covers a foundation of advanced biomedical science, including advanced anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, and pharmacology. It also includes clinical experience in seven specialty areas and a research project. You’ll graduate with the knowledge and clinical practice skills necessary to support patients and collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals.

If you want to prepare to become a PA, let D’Youville University help you get there.

YOU WILL:

  •  Learn to serve patients across their lifespan, promote health and wellness in primary care, and engage in interprofessional collaboration.
  •  Understand the needs of diverse patient populations.
  •  Gain the knowledge and skills necessary to become an exemplary clinician.
  •  Demonstrate professionalism across multiple areas of clinical practice.
  • Our students will demonstrate competency in medical and evidence-based research through completion of a master’s research project.
